Meaning in the Middle

Lectio Divina: John O'Donohue

Episode Summary

This was our first time doing a Lectio Divina together and the result was really meaningful. Ryan brought a reading from the Irish poet John O'Donohue. If it's new to you, we'd love for you to test-drive the practice with us and let us know how it goes.

Episode Notes

We can talk about philosophy and religion forever (and we just might) but we also need to engage in other ways that aren't so exclusively intellectual. Lectio Divina is an ancient practice of reading a text in a meditative posture, allowing your intuition to guide you rather than approaching the text analytically. The result can be really impactful and meaningful and can reveal surprising insights.

In this episode, Ryan brings a lovely poem from the Irish writer John O'Donohue.

We hope some of you will try it along with us.
